Oh what fun!!!

WOW….is it really the end of July??? Where has the summer gone? The Marrs family has been very busy!
We would like to thank our mothers who helped us out BIG TIME when they came to our house and watched Liam while we were in France!
Thanks Mamaw Cindy and M!

Brock was giving a presentation at the 2009 Carbon Conference in Biarritz, France. When Brock gets to travel for these conventions I usually like to travel along because with his flight and the hotel paid for it is a good deal.

Anyway, we spent the week in Biarritz, France (a beach town in Southwest France near Spain). It was beautiful and we had lots a great food and wine. If any of you ever get a chance to go to France we would suggest Biarritz for sure! It was beautiful and very peaceful.

The weather was rainy, but nice and about 65-70 degrees most days. It was only really sunny one day and that was the day Brock had to give his presentation at 6pm that evening. So, he didn’t get to go to the beach. We still had a wonderful time.

They had hydrangea plants EVERYWHERE. They had so many different colors and they were huge.
After spending a week in Biarritz we went to Paris for the weekend. Brock led our walking tour.

Liam is probably busier than any of us. He is exploring and coming up with new tricks all the time. His big new thing is waving to everyone.

We have had to JUMP on the baby proofing of our new house! Liam is into everything and is crawling everywhere. He has almost mastered going up and down the landing to our stairs. Here is a cute pictures of this.

In this picture he is also excited because he can see daddy coming home!

He can’t stay away from my laptop. He constantly pulls at my screen and tries to push buttons. This makes it very hard for me to work on the blog! Haha.

I often find toilet paper all over the bathroom…just like this.

The bathroom is where he also learned how to open and close the drawers. He hasn’t figured out how to keep from closing up his arms and hands. We are working on child proofing the drawers.
He is also fascinated with opening and closing doors. He will sit there for a long time in amazement as he just pushes it open and closed. I guess we need to find something to child proof this as well. Don’t worry…we are letting him try to figure things out too. We understand that he needs to fall every now and then so he can learn.

Pulling up on everything and for the first time the other day started pushing and walking behind some of his toys! He also took a small first step yesterday. It was small…very small…but it still counts. We only have 5 months until he needs to walk down the aisle at Lacy & Nathan’s wedding. Speaking of Nathan, Liam and I went to Winston-Salem, NC with my parents and sister Lacy to visit Nathan.

Liam was asleep at first.

Here is Nathan...ready for the game!

Liam was so interested in Nathan that I couldn't get him to look at the camera for the picture.
Liam can drink out of a straw now and he loves it. We found out at the ball game because he tried my mom's lemonade. Here is a picture of him looking for the cup...haha!

I can’t keep him out of anything. He loves to explore and more importantly loves to concentrate on EVERYTHING. He just sits there and stares at things. Here is a picture of him staring at Aunt Lacy as she blows bubbles with her bubble gum. He is always amazed by this and it is so funny.

Liam was so sleepy by the end of the game, but he would not go to sleep. He was too interested in everything that was going on and people watching.

For the 4th of July we went to watch a concert with Liam’s Uncle Benji, Aunt Missy, and cousins Andrew and Mary Keene. The weather did not cooperate very much, but that did not stop Mary Keene from playing with her cousin. She loves Liam. It is so cute how much she loves him. If he even looks at her or touches her she makes sure to tell everyone about it. Here she is trying to share a balloon with him. He didn’t like it at first, but it warmed up to him!

He loves broccoli…I MEAN HE LOVES IT. He just shoves it in his mouth!

Here was his first time trying ravioli! What a mess!

Liam swimming with Doc, Mary Keene, and Andrew

Look at this sweet picture of Liam's feet! He sits like this a lot. It has been mentioned that he may have spend a lot of time like this when I was pregnant with him. It is very natural for him to do this. So cute!

Yes, this is Liam stuffing an entire pin wheel snack in his mouth. I have to break things apart and give them to him one at a time because he just shoves the entire thing in his mouth!

My niece Danielle came up to spend the night for her birthday and go shopping. Here they are at the pool!

We keep trying to get Liam to like his float. I think it freaks him out. Danielle tried to make it fun for him.

After we went to the pool it was time to shop. Liam even help out. How cute is this!!!

Had to concentrate on the clothing!

No, this is not Liam practicing for the Kiss concert...this is what Liam does when we ask him what Barnes does. LOL!

Isn't this a cute picture of Liam, Mary Keene, and Andrew. They were looking out onto the putting green at Greenbrier.

Check out this stud!

Liam with his Uncle Billy! Thanks to Billy and Cheryl for watching Liam a few weeks ago so that mom and dad could go watch Harry Potter! Brock could not wait to see this movie.

Liam with his Uncle Jason. Jason can't wait to take Liam hunting! (He already looks like a deer caught in the headlights)

Liam sticking his tongue out!

We took Barnes to the doggy pool that is available at one of the dog boarding facilities.

I think Liam was confused. I am sure he wondered why he could not get in the water.

Barnes had a blast!

Here Brock and Liam are watching...

golf!

It must have been a bad putt! haha

Big boy is holding his own bottle!

Like Father...Like Son!
It is hard to believe our little butterball is going to be a year old soon!
